A Perfect Day
"Triumph In The Countryside" is a short film based in northern regions of the UK countrysides.
We follow an old man (I named him George), who lives a content life. He goes for a road trip across the countryside in his trusty Triumph van.
Sunny weather. A big home. His favourite car. Stunning countryside roads.
For George, it's a perfect day, for his content life.

To create a short film that involves car rigging & animation.
3D modelled a vintage car and made it drive around the British countrysides.
A gentle, delightful short film that has a strong English-feel to it, while making audiences smile.
A British Triumph
I wanted to produce an animation film that focused on vehicular animation, and drew inspiration from the Triumph Herald Courier van after seeing two parked in a driveway.
So I 3D modelled the Triumph van from scratch, and as the car was being developed, so did the idea of creating an animation film about it. And I wanted to make this the most English-feeling animation you've ever seen.
I took inspiration from countryside locations near Windermere, where Forza Horizon 4 is based, and loosely designed environments for George to drive around in.
Say Hi to George
For this film, I wanted the main character to be a very kind-looking, sweet old man - to complement the Triumph van as his favourite vehicle to drive.
I collected a database of stock-free images of old British men available online, and carefully designed an original character using dedicated character animation software.
Timeless in Age
A silent magic in Britain is how countryside cottages and building are much older, classic-looking, and timeless. This complimented the age of the Triumph Herald Courier, as well as George, and resulted in a symbol of age and timelessness still thriving like it was yesterday.
You can't beat the classics.
